Episode 1: Indian Chief Vintage Sturgis, SD Edition—125 Bikes, 125 Years

More Than a Limited Edition

History You Can Ride

01

125 Years of Indian Motorcycle

Founded in 1901, Indian Motorcycle enters its 125th year with a machine that carries the unmistakable silhouette and spirit of the historic Chief into a new century.

02

Born From the Sturgis Story

The rally began in 1938, organized by local Indian Motorcycle dealer Clarence “Pappy” Hoel and the Jackpine Gypsies. This edition reconnects the Chief with the gathering that became the world’s biggest motorcycle rally.

03

The Historic No. 56

The painted No. 56 on the side panel recalls the race numbers worn at the earliest Sturgis events. A multicolored headdress inspired by 1930s Indian branding completes the period look.

A Century in the Details

Vintage Soul. Modern Road Manners.

Indian Motorcycle Red and Cream paint, a multicolored headdress inspired by 1930s branding and the historic No. 56 make the Sturgis story visible from every angle.

Valanced fenders, wire-spoke wheels, a vintage solo saddle, swept-back handlebars and an illuminated warbonnet mascot create a silhouette rooted in Indian Motorcycle heritage.

Painted cylinder heads and pushrod tubes contrast with black barrels, echoing the look of Indian Motorcycle engines from the 1940s.

Underneath is the air-cooled Thunderstroke 116, modern rider technology and the capability to make this individually numbered collectible part of the road—not just the showroom.
